qemu-utils software package provides QEMU utilities, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install qemu-utils
qemu-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the qemu-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep qemu-utils *
You will get with qemu-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
